SF Space Walk 2026 Festival Guide: How to Do San Francisco’s Weeklong 4/20 Celebration
San Francisco does 4/20 like no other city on the planet can.
SF Space Walk returns April 14-20 with a citywide week of cannabis culture, from flower drops and lounge sessions to art shows, food pairings, music and neighborhood adventures.
It’s less one single event and more a full festival spread across the city. For locals and visitors alike, it’s one of the most interesting ways to experience legal weed culture in San Francisco. (Want to contribute? Contact us.)

What is SF Space Walk?

SF Space Walk is San Francisco’s annual weed week.
The week is built around RSVP-friendly drop parties, where fans can meet growers, shop limited releases and hang out at some of the best lounges and dispensaries in the city. The concept is inspired in part by record release parties, but for flower, edibles, extracts and cannabis culture.
What makes it stand out is the mix: legal lounges, top California brands, neighborhood character, design, nightlife and food. It’s a cannabis festival that actually feels like San Francisco.
Why it’s different: SF Space Walk isn’t just a 4/20 sale week. It’s a citywide cultural crawl built around lounges, art, music, food and special drops.
Before you go
California legalized cannabis for adults 21 and older in 2016. Adults can possess up to 1 ounce of flower, 1,000 milligrams of edibles and 8 grams of extracts. Public smoking is technically not legal, which is why San Francisco’s lounge scene matters so much during the week.
Most events require at least a small purchase to enter or participate. RSVPs are smart, especially if you want access to limited pre-orders, special releases or doorbuster deals.

Don’t miss the art show
“Get to the Bag” at Mirus Gallery

One reason SF Space Walk feels like a real festival is the art programming.
The third annual “Get to the Bag” exhibition at Mirus Gallery looks at cannabis packaging and design as visual culture. This year’s edition highlights prohibited art, including East Coast black-market bag collections and California designs banned since 2023.
The show runs April 3-24 at Mirus Gallery, 540 Howard St., Third Floor. The opening party is Friday, April 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. [RSVP] [Read our exhibition brochure]
Bonus pick for design heads: Start your Space Walk early with “Get to the Bag.” It expands the festival window and gives culture, art and design fans a reason to jump in before the main event week.

How to do SF Space Walk like a local
SF Space Walk works best when it feels like a cannabis crawl through San Francisco culture, not just a list of store appearances.
The best approach is to build each stop into a neighborhood day or night. Pair Polk Street with a bar crawl. Turn Mission Cannabis Club into dinner in the Mission. Make Solful part of an Irving Street food run. Use BASA as the start of a Divisadero night.
Why SF Space Walk stands out
San Francisco is singular on the world cannabis stage. We’re not just partying in a park like New York, or dodging prohibition like Spannabis.
SF Space Walk showcases where cannabis culture is the culture. No city has this combination of world-class weed, licensed lounges, walkable neighborhoods, music, design, food and community.
