About This Event:
What if cannabis wasn’t just medicine — it was a movement?
Join the Brownie Mary Democratic Club of San Francisco (BMDC) and the Society of Cannabis Clinicians for an evening rooted in San Francisco’s trailblazing cannabis history: education, community, and a powerful documentary screening.
On the agenda:
- Learn about the Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) and how it can benefit you
- Hear from Dr. Jean Talleyrand, representing the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, on cannabis as medicine
- Screen “Join the Club” — the untold story of how the AIDS crisis in San Francisco gave rise to medical cannabis legalization in America, told through the life of activist Dennis Peron.
“Join the Club” follows Dennis Peron, who — after the AIDS epidemic swept through his community — came to see cannabis as medicine, ultimately opening the Cannabis Buyers’ Club and leading the fight for what became California’s landmark Prop 215.
*Your $30 ticket includes a Brownie Mary Democratic Club membership — connecting you to an organization carrying forward the legacy of the woman who helped make medical cannabis a reality. Fight high taxes, over-regulation, and win!
This event is open to all — no prior cannabis knowledge needed. Whether you’re curious, a patient, or a longtime advocate, there’s a seat for you.
